GetawayTT – Cancellation, Refund & Payment Policy
Effective Date: 16th January 2026
Jurisdiction: Trinidad and Tobago
1. Cancellation Policy
For Guests:
Cancellations are subject to the following terms:

Cancellations made 30 days (1 month) or more prior to check-in
A full refund will be issued, minus any non-refundable service fees, where applicable. -
Cancellations made between 7 and 29 days prior to check-in
A refund will be issued minus the first night’s accommodation charge and applicable service fees. -
Cancellations made between 6 and 3 days prior to check-in
A 50% refund will be issued. -
Cancellations made less than 3 days prior to check-in
The booking is non-refundable.
Peak periods, including but not limited to Carnival, Easter, and major national or regional events, may be subject to stricter cancellation terms, which will be clearly disclosed at the time of booking.
For Hosts:

All hosts must comply with GetawayTT’s standard cancellation policy.

Hosts are not permitted to set custom cancellation terms.

If a host cancels a confirmed booking:

The guest will receive a full refund.

GetawayTT will assist the guest with securing alternative accommodation, where possible.

If the cancellation occurs less than 3 days prior to check-in, the host may be charged the guest service fee associated with the booking.

Repeated host cancellations may result in reduced listing visibility, penalties, or suspension from the platform.
2. Refund Policy

Approved refunds are processed within 1 to 3 business days.

Refunds may be issued to the original payment method, bank transfer, or digital wallet, at GetawayTT’s discretion.

Guests must notify GetawayTT within 24 hours of check-in if the property is materially different from the listing (e.g. unsafe, unavailable, or unclean).

Supporting evidence (photos, videos, or written documentation) may be required.

GetawayTT reserves the right to issue partial or full refunds based on investigation outcomes.
3. Travel Insurance Policy
GetawayTT does not provide third-party travel insurance.
Guests are strongly encouraged to obtain their own insurance coverage for:

Trip cancellations

Personal injury or liability
-
Medical emergencies
-
Lost or damaged belongings
Any special packages that include limited coverage will be clearly disclosed at booking.
4. Force Majeure
GetawayTT is not liable for cancellations or disruptions caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:

Natural disasters (e.g. hurricanes, flooding)

Government restrictions or public health emergencies
-
Transportation strikes or shutdowns
In such cases, GetawayTT may, at its discretion, offer a full or partial refund, booking credit, or assistance with rebooking, depending on circumstances and recoverable costs.
5. Dispute Resolution

This policy is governed by the laws of Trinidad and Tobago.

All parties agree to attempt mediation or arbitration prior to initiating legal proceedings.
6. Policy Updates
GetawayTT reserves the right to amend this policy at any time.
Users will be notified of material changes at least 14 days in advance via email, phone, or platform notifications.
7. Partial Payment Policy
To secure bookings while offering flexibility, GetawayTT permits partial payments on select services.
Payment Schedule:

A 40% deposit is required at the time of booking.

The remaining 60% balance must be paid no later than 7 days prior to check-in.

For bookings made within 7 days of check-in, full payment is required upfront.
Failure to Complete Payment:

If the balance is not paid by the due date, the booking will be automatically cancelled.

The deposit will be forfeited.
-
Cancellation penalties will apply based on the timing of the missed payment.
Refunds:

Deposits are fully refundable only if cancellation occurs 30 days or more prior to check-in, subject to service fees.

Refund eligibility decreases as outlined in Section 1 (Cancellation Policy).
Communication:

Automated payment reminders may be sent via email and WhatsApp.
8. Car Rental Terms (Addendum)

A valid Driver’s License is required for all car rental bookings.

Security deposits may apply and will be disclosed prior to vehicle collection.
-
Guests are responsible for traffic violations, fuel replacement, damages, and late returns.
-
All incidents must be reported immediately to the vehicle provider and GetawayTT.
